Himachal Informations
Man lived in the foothills of Himachal Pradesh in the in Bangana valley of Kangra, Sirsa valley of Nalagarh and Markanda valley of Sirmour. The Indus Valley civilization flourished between 2250 and 1750 B.C. The people of this civilization occupied the foothills of the state.

The original inhabitants of the Ganga Plains who were known as Kalrorian people were shifted to the north by the people of the Indus Valley Civilization. They started living in the hills of Himachal Pradesh where they were able to preserve their way of life and also live calmly. They are known as the Dasas, Dasyus and Nishadas in the Vedas. Later, they were known as Kinnars, Nagas and Yakshas. To the hills of present, the Kols or Mundas are believed to be the original migrants.
